Misty View of GrandBay From Morne Anglais

photo of grandbay village in Dominica
The view of Grandbay from Morne Anglais is breathtaking, the only drawback of being so high is the cloud cover. But on a clear day I can just imagine the spectacular of Roseau, loubiere, Bellevue, etc

Goodwill Road

 goowwill road in Dominica

There are no major highway(s) in Dominica - unlike most of the other Caribbean islands (i.e. Barbados and Trinidad). The closing thing to a highway in Dominica, is the recently renovated Goodwill Road which takes motorist in and out the city of Roseau - see the above photo.

Mountainous

view of the mountains in the south of Dominica

As you can see from the picture above, Dominica is not typical Caribbean island with beautiful white sand beaches that's packed with tourist all year round. Dominica is all about adventure hiking, exotic rainforest, and basically just living the simple island lifestyle.

Thanks Dominica!

Rosalie Bay

Rosalie Bay is one of my favorite places in Dominica and perhaps the world. It's just something about the sound of the waves breaking against shore and the constant sea breeze - helps me to forget everything else that's going on in the world.

Just me and nature - thanks Dominica!

Fort Shirley View

I've to honestly say, this is one of favorite views - on a perfect day the view is simply breathtaking. A definite must do for anyone visiting Dominica.

Trivia: Cabrits National Park is at the north end of the island of Dominica, north of Portsmouth on a peninsula. The park protects tropical forest, coral reefs and wetlands. There are hiking trails and an English garrison called Fort Shirley. It occupies 1,313 acres (531 ha) and was established in 1986.

Visit Dominica-island.info for more photos from Fort Shirley.

Mother and Son

One thing about Dominica, you discover the most amazing things in the most unexpected places. Liuda and I took this picture on our way to visit the Cabrits National Park ( one of the many historical site around Dominica).

Ahead of us, was this mother and son, who we learned later usually just walk to the park to have mother and son picnics for no special reason - now how cool is that? I was amazed that this single mother understood the importance of family time. To many times people forget that is the little things that makes the lasting impressions on our lives.

Yet again I'm amazed.
