When it comes to Creole Cuisine, Dominica is topping the chart. Once a colony under the french- until the English took to over. Walk the streets of the Roseau (Capital City) and you can still see a lot french influence in nearly everything.
Quiet often visitors I'm stopped on the street by visitors to ask- where can they go to dine to get some great Creole Cuisine. And the first restaurant that comes to mind is LaRole Creole (they've the best friut cake) - a small family owned restaurant, housed in one of Roseau’s historical old buildings. As soon as you enter LaRobe Creole, you get this warm homey feeling from the stone and brick, red cedar wood and the traditional madras of the Creole dress give the restaurant a look and character that is unique to LaRobe Creole.
The Restaurant is open Monday-Saturday (Closed on Sundays and public holidays) for lunch from Noon - 3pm and for dinner from 6:30pm - 10:00pm.
